People seem pretty open to the idea of a sleep divorce where the partners don’t actually share a bed. But generosity may stay there as far as sleeping arrangements are concerned.
A couple seems to have (playfully) come under fire after admitting that…brace yourself…they randomly choose which side of the bed they sleep on each night.
“There’s no discussion about it. We just pick one or the other when we sleep,” says home designer Angelina on TikTok.
Already nervous and starting to sweat? You are not alone.
Friends called her and partner Skyler crazy whenever Angelina talked about this habit (or lack thereof). Unfortunately for Angelina, she couldn’t find any backup from her TikTok followers either.
Literally thousands of comments started pouring in, all from people baffled that someone could put up with this kind of chaos.
“What kind of serial killer is this? 😂,” wrote one.
@renovatingourhome ok i really want to know is this just us or do we randomly choose which side of the bed we sleep on or do we sleep on the same side every night? #bedroom #sleepok ♬ nintendo wii (mii channel) song – julie on internet
Another person added: “Are you saying you just go about your day without knowing which side of the bed you’re sleeping on that night?! What?!”
And perhaps the funniest comment is, “I’m single and next to my bed.”
But Angelina was not going to back down. In some follow-up videos, she argued that the idea might not be so far-fetched after all.
First, she addresses some major concerns, such as nightstands, bedside supplies (cell phone chargers, etc.), and how to treat pets.
@renovatingourhome 2000 comments calling us monsters and some unfollowing 🤣 Sorry for not sleeping on the same side of the bed! Hope this clears up your question # Bedroom #Sleep OK #Beige Flag #Red Flag ♬ Creepy and Simple Horror BGM(1070744) – howlingindicator
And let’s be honest, her reaction makes sense. I have a nightstand, but I keep most of my stuff in a drawer (which makes it look cleaner) and leave nighttime routines to other rooms. And there are same cell phone chargers on both sides of the bed. Easy peasy.
As for pet cats, as long as they can snuggle up next to their favorite humans, it’s okay to switch.
Angelina also said that while their sleep habits may sound unconventional, relationship experts consider them “ideal” because they “greenlight” them and free them from all kinds of stubborn possessiveness. said there is a possibility.
Thank you (^^)//////// Everyone, it’s time to turn the bed! 😈 #sleeptok #sideofthebed #greenflag #redflag #greenscreen @Insider ♬ Songs for Nintendo wii (mii channel) – Julie on the Internet
It wasn’t so long ago that the concept of sleeping in separate beds seemed entirely taboo or implied a bad relationship. So while Angelina and Skyler may seem like outliers now, it wouldn’t be surprising if this became yet another new trend. Even if you don’t understand living with this kind of contradiction, there are probably some ways to move your relationship (or life in general) forward that work perfectly for you, even if they seem strange to the mainstream. there is. And that’s what really matters.
So who will be living on the edge and sleeping on the other side of the bed tonight?
