International model and global ambassador for Operation Smile, Pritika Swarup has invested heavily in beauty and wellness, but she’s just getting started. From her Ayurvedic beauty line, Prakti, to what she wears on her long-haul flights, here’s what she does. her favorite In space this summer.
A new product is launched in your line. What’s the difference?
There will be many! The current highlight is the detox mask, which launches on October 3rd. It uses push-pull technology and has never been like this before. In fact, it’s the most advanced product we’ve ever launched. When applied, it draws out impurities while pushing moisture into the skin. It’s just a super creamy and super moisturizing formula. This makes a real difference when it comes to detoxing as it creates a truly nurturing and comforting experience.
So… detox masks aren’t always gentle on sensitive skin.
I have had many terrible experiences with detox masks. After that my skin becomes very, very angry, hard and irritated. I really wanted to address those concerns. I don’t know how much to share about this, but all I can say is that I’m excited.
I think you also rely heavily on the “experience” of the product. What do you expect users to love most about this?
I think they’ll love a few key points. It is very easy to keep up and you can feel the warming sensation immediately. When we think of detox masks, we think of discomfort, but they really need to remove impurities and pollutants and minimize pores. We will do everything for that, but it will be done in a comfortable way. You can wear it for a long time and it will not get dirty.
When I use other detox masks, I put it on and I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m going to take it off in 10 minutes.’ It should last about a minute. When that happens, I am in a lot of trouble. The overall experience is warm, soothing and moisturizing and feels like it really redefines this type of mask experience. I’m really looking forward to seeing how people will take it because it contains such beautiful colors of purple sweet potato and rosemary. The fragrance is really beautiful. We always focus on the aroma aspect. This is because aroma is not only functional as skin care, but also functional in terms of uplifting mood. Our aroma story is truly beautiful along with our products.
Could you share some inside information about what happens next?
We are pleased to announce that we will be launching Wellness Candles in November. I’m really looking forward to it because it’s a fulfilling collection. We were able to create these beautifully complex, multi-dimensional blends. There are three categories: cleansing – detoxifying, vitality – uplifting, and grounding – calming. It’s kind of crazy how they can completely change your mood and enhance your day. Also great if you are working from home.
i tried them all. I have tested them all for months. I am excited to bring these people out into the world and further advance this idea of holistic health. I want to encourage people to take care of their mind and soul as well as the physical side of beauty. Try baking even just a little while taking care of your skin. We are leaning towards that very thought right now.
We know that rituals are also a big part of your line and personal life. Is there something you do every night just for you?
I think it depends on how tired you are! Sometimes I have to crash, but I meditate all the time. If possible, I also like to have a facial massage before bed or at the beginning of the day. When I go for interviews or shoots, I use a facial massager for an extra massage. I always try to take some time out to feel good.
you travel a lot Do you have any advice for people who are nervous about flying or who want to be more relaxed on the plane?
I drink half a glass of wine when I go to bed, but I also believe in breathing. People don’t realize how much breathing volume has to do with anxiety and stress levels. When you’re really stressed, you breathe very quickly. We have short breaths and cannot actually get oxygen into our bodies and into our brains. I do two-on-one breathing and alternate nostril breathing, and it works because it actually gets more oxygen into the brain. It helps you feel a little more relaxed, calm and clear.
Recently, a friend of mine was flying to Istanbul, and she was very nervous about the long flight, but she was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to pass out from the pills.’ I just said: “Yes, you can, but it’s okay to learn how to control your mood because it helps you in every aspect of your life.” I recommend that you take some time to feel it. And when you realize it, you’ll fall asleep or watch a movie, and you’ll be comfortable. I think everyone just wants to have an easy time.
