Warsaw Chopin Airport now has two additional facilities available to travelers, including InPost Paczkomat devices and sleeping capsules.
In a recent statement, the airport announced that a Paczkomat device was installed inside the fast-track aisle in Baggage Control Area E at Chopin Airport.
Similar to the same description, if a passenger finds themselves in front of a security checkpoint with an item that is not accepted for carriage, they will be presented with a smart tool in the form of an InPost service. The option will allow travelers to take proactive action, reports SchengenVisaInfo.com.
In addition, sleeping capsules are added to the amenities. Designed to provide rest during long layovers and long waits between flights, these capsules offer an optimal solution. It accommodates travelers who have to spend the night on the airport grounds as well as those who endure long layovers.
In this regard, Chopin Airport spokesperson Anna Delmont emphasized that the introduction of sleep capsules at the airport is another step towards increasing travel comfort.
She said the initiative is in direct response to the needs of passengers who are trapped in terminals and cannot benefit from traditional hotel accommodation. At the same time, these sleeping capsules are strategically placed within the non-Schengen area for this particular layer, she said.
In addition, Paczkomat is intended for passengers whose carry-on items have not cleared security checks. Sleep capsules, on the other hand, are an ideal option for those waiting for a connecting flight.
“The possibility of sending parcels directly from the baggage control area of the airport is the first solution of its kind not only in Poland but also in Europe. It meets the expectations of many passengers visiting the port. Distracted or ignorant, they proceed to security with prohibited items in their luggage.” Mr. Durmont pointed out.
The innovative Paccomat device, offered for the first time in Europe at Chopin Airport, is designed to assist passengers whose baggage contents have raised concerns during security checks, according to Chopin Airport.
If certain items in the bag, such as perfume or souvenir pen knives, legitimately belong to checked baggage, travelers now have the option of having them sent via the Paczkomat device. Chopin Airpot also revealed that this amazing solution eliminates the need to permanently delete items.
