People and TODAY Beauty Awards 2023: Hair & Makeup
Maybelline New York The Falsies Surreal Extension Mascara
There’s a reason this mascara has “fake” in its name. The brand claims that your eyelashes will have 10x more volume and 36% more length after use. According to the brand, the results can contribute to “hybrid fiber technology.” The technology is a blend of fibers that dramatically coats the lashes from root to tip. And this dramatic effect is guaranteed to stay in place with 24-hour set resistance, stain, peel, and stain resistance.
color pop chrome liquid shadow
Not everyone has time to get their eyes done in the morning. But that’s where ColourPop Chrome Liquid Shadow comes in. Just one swipe covers the entire eyelid with shimmering pigment. Choose from six shades, including vibrant blue, soft reflective pink, and metallic terracotta, to wear alone or layered. All of these are long-lasting and prevent staining when applied.
“I wore this during a horribly humid, 90-degree day, and no creases stuck when I got home,” raved TODAY Show producer Melea McCreary.
Wet and Wild Rose Comforting Lip Color
This tinted lip balm was a favorite among our staff. Here’s why: At just under $5, it’s the cheapest option on this list and gives your lips an intense shine and natural shine. The brand touts this for its potent blend of rosehip oil, vitamin E acetate, passionfruit seed oil, and raspberry extract. This makes this product comfortable to wear whether you wear it over or under your favorite lipstick.
John Frieda Frizz Ease Replenish & Repair Shampoo & Conditioner
According to our staff, this restorative shampoo and conditioner duo “works wonders” on frizzy hair. “I used this combo before going to a barbecue at a friend’s house and was so happy with how smooth and shiny my hair stayed all day,” says People Editorial Assistant Natalia Senanayake. According to the brand, the moisturizing shampoo uses a mixture of argan, coconut, and moringa oils to repair the look and feel of frizzy hair, while the conditioner prevents further damage from heating tools.
L’Oreal Paris Elnet Satin Extra Strong Hold Hairspray
Finding the right hairspray for your hair type is always a matter of trial and error. Crunchy residue, unwanted hair loss, and weight on your hair. This perennial favorite hairspray suggests the opposite, offering brushable hold and a moisture-resistant finish that doesn’t require reapplication. Simply spray your desired amount of ultra-fine mist to keep your hairstyle in place all day long.
T3 Single Pass Style Max Flat Iron
The problem with hair styling products is the damage caused by the heat after styling. However, T3 has designed his iron smartly, which they claim minimizes heat exposure. Its “StyleMax Technology” customizes heat distribution (there are nine heat settings) based on your hair type and styling goals to add shine and reduce damage. Other features of this device include a 360-degree rotating cord, 1-hour auto-shutoff, and a ceramic plate to smooth frizz.
