A Muslim student in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, who was slapped by his classmates on orders from his school teacher, was taken to Meerut for a health check-up on Sunday because he could not sleep and complained of mood swings, his parents say. made it .
However, the boy’s parents are normal, news agency PTI reported.
“On Saturday, after complaining of irritability and sleeplessness all night last night, the boy was taken to Meerut for an examination. Doctors said the boy was normal. He was upset because I asked him about the incident,” the father of a student in Class 2 told PTI.
When asked about his compromise with schoolteacher Tripta Chagi, who was involved in the incident, the father said he would not compromise with her.
Meanwhile, Shubham Shukla of Muzaffarnagar Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) said the boy would enroll in public primary school if his parents agreed.
“The father of the boy who was slapped does not want his son to continue his studies in the Neha public school. A block education officer spoke to the boy and the boy expressed his willingness to study in the village public primary school.” If he wishes, his admission to public school will be processed on Monday,” Shukla said.
When asked about his son’s enrollment in public school, the boy’s father said the family hadn’t decided on it because the boy was anxious.
Shukla said private schools in Kabpur village will not be closed and normal educational activities will continue.
“The school has been asked to explain its affiliation to the agency within a month. The school has three teachers and runs one to five classes,” the BSA said.
Mr Shukla said the education ministry would take action against the Chagi teacher following a police investigation and police action.
The BSA also said Block Education Officers will go to Neha Public School on Monday and make arrangements for students who want to come there to study.
Amid widespread outrage, police arrested Chagi on Saturday on charges of ordering students to slap a Muslim classmate for making collective remarks and failing to do their homework. Chagi was charged under IPC Articles 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing injury) and 504 (deliberate insult with intent to induce a violation of the peace) on the complaint of the boy’s family. Both were unacceptable crimes. Such crimes are bailable but do not result in immediate arrest and require a warrant.
In her defense, Tiagi said the video was altered to heighten tension. She claimed the video was filmed by the boy’s uncle.
